Often rappers find room for humour whether through some clever wordplay or in their topicals or imagery. It is rare however to hear a song with humour at its core, but not designed to make you laugh. Tabbouleh in fact makes an impact with a very serious trap beat threaded with exquisite oud riff which in its own right could do with a review by itself.
Producer Vasi and oud player/doctor Basel Debal deserve credit for tight production and composition skills here. Menon’s rapping comes through yet again with his signature hard-nock style, although this is probably one of the more lighthearted sides we’ve seen of him. That is not to say that Menon doesn’t remind you on Tabbouleh what makes him who he is. This Dubai rapper has really cemented his identity time and again through both his top draw lyrics, and hard-to-ignore vocal performances.
A fantastic outcome of the recent On The Rise EP recorded from the Nomad Bootcamp.
