Trapped Beasts bade farewell to the UAE with its closing edition at SeventySeventy, Park Hyatt Dubai. A hand picked a line up of local hip hop acts included 1takennandos, Menon, KC Hamada, Aeli, DJ Maww and Mr. Shef Codes. This farewell rave certainly went out with a bang.
Menon lived up to expectations dropping banger after banger, preying on the crowd's need for instantaneous hype. But KC Hamada in particular commanded attention with an energetic performance, blowing smoke in the face of the term "up n coming rapper". This kid was born to tear up a rave. Aeli was on top form as usual, dictating the packed room of hip hop lovers with his usual blend of jump up tunes with deeper trap and dubstep rhythms.
“Honestly, it did not feel like our last edition. We plan on taking Trapped Beasts to the States! But we will visit and definitely create more events in Dubai, eventually." said Maryam Pahlavan co-founder of Trapped Beasts. The success of this series, especially in such a short time, was a really pleasant surprise. People need events that brings everyone together and makes you discover new talents and music, and we are so glad we could provide that. “ she added.
We hope the legacy will live on here. We saw yet again that Dubai nightlife extends far beyond the radio-hit laden super clubs and Dubai will indeed feel a void, or rather a deprivation of savagery with the departure of Trapped Beasts.
