The Beat' is a visionary event series developed to support local and regional musicians by creating more opportunities for live performance. The event was founded by popular Saudi radio host and blogger Big Hass as an underground event in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) in 2013. The Beat has now been marked with the DXB stamp and is all set to make its return next week on 13th March at the Fridge in Alserkal Avenue.
Volume 3 will feature some of Big Hass personal favorites including, Canadian-Iraqi artist Narcy, who is all set to showcase his new album "Space-Time". The album merges East and West and will present to audiences a visual and auditory glimpse of what “Space-Time” means to the artist on personal, cultural and philosophical level.
Joining him is Lebanese Dj/Turntablist Dj Lethal Skillz, a music pioneer and the undisputed champion in the genre of Turntablism, fusing hip-hop and oriental Arabian streams. Opening acts will include the soulful voice of Layla Kardan, and Moh Flow, one of the first artists to perform on The Beat 's humble beginnings in Saudi Arabia.
