The fourth edition of the Wasla festival will take place in Dubai on March 1, 2019. Since its inception in 2016, Dubai’s Arabic alternative music festival has roped in big regional names to perform at the event. This year Wasla teams up with Live Nation to host performances at the Burj Park, Dubai.
Event headliners will include Lebanese indie quintet Mashrou Leila, who performed at the inaugural Wasla festival and stage and Egyptian rock outfit Massar Egbar, who recently released a new album. Both bands will perform a few new tunes at the festival.
Joining them is electro-music group 47soul(pictured above) a band that popularised a new pulsating sound they call “shamstep”, a form of dance music combining traditional dabke sounds with deep electronic beats. Jordanian indie band Ayloul will also share their brand of Arab-rooted Oriental music blended with rock.
Six acts from the Emirates will be added to the lineup. More details coming soon
