The Backyard Dubai located in the Steigenberger Hotel has teamed up with cutting-edge graffiti artist Ramy Elzaghawy and Mawaheb from Beautiful People to display a live graffiti event that is open for the public to attend.
The live graffiti event will take place on November 28th at the street-art-inspired terrace of The Backyard. Ramy Elzaghawy and the two Mawaheb students, Vincent and Nazeer, will work together for this special event to create a spectacular artwork that will follow the theme of urban street art with a Thai twist. The live performance starts at 11am and the public are welcome to come, enjoy and witness the incredible artists at work.
Mawaheb is a vibrant art studio for adults with special needs, now known as 'the determined ones' following a directive by His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Dubai-based artist and all round creative Ramy Elzaghawy has worked on credible projects around the region. Finding his inspiration in movies, faces of people, music and the interior design of places he walks into and form the natural world that surrounds him.
By hosting this exciting live event, Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay is encouraging residents and hotel guests to come and support both Ramy and the two Mawaheb students, Vincent and Nazeer. “This event is a great addition to our ongoing collaboration with Mawaheb, which started earlier this year with the Brothaus Bakery-Bistro exhibition of the students work during Art Dubai. It was continued with the graffiti creation for the honourable sharing fridges challenge initiative during Ramadan and both students have been recruited as part of the Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay team. The live graffiti event has given both students the chance work with a very popular and established artist, who is renowned in the UAE for his street art inspired work”, comments Torsten Obermann, General Manager.
The Backyard Thai food truck and the new ice cream machine serving authentic Thai ice cream will be there for the special occasion.
Event opens: November 28th - 11am – 5pm.
