Pioneering art exhibition - Art Dubai has announced the launch of the seventh edition of "Campus Art Dubai". This season will feature a six-month-long, detailed course and residency programme to help Emirati’s and residents of the UAE develop their art and bring their ideas to life. The programme also aims to give students the opportunity to learn new skills and produce original ideas while working under the mentorship of world-renowned art tutors.
Campus Art Dubai (CAD) will feature seminars and meetings that will consist of group critiques, discussions and presentations led by a spectrum of academics, artists, critics and curators - both local and international. These meetings enable participants to think critically and creatively as well as exchange ideas and skills with eachother.
Participants will also go through a two-month residency programme where they will have the chance to turn their initial research ideas into reality. CAD will provide all selected artists the required support, studio space and facilities they need to transform their ideas into physical art. Final artwork will be displayed in a curated group exhibition during Dubai Art Week 2019.
CAD 7.0 participants will be tutored by Uzma Z. Rizvi and Murtaza Vali, alongside a Guest Curator. A number of Dubai-based gallerists including Asmaa Al Shabibi (Lawrie Shabibi Gallery), Kourosh Nouri (Carbon 12), Charles Pocock(Meem Gallery), Sunny Rahbar (The Third Line) and Ead Samawi (Ayyam Gallery) will join group critiques to provide artists with feedback on their work.
The deadline for applications to CAD 7.0 is September 16th, 2018.
