The UAE government's widespread support for the arts has been extremely beneficial in strengthing the grassroots of this industry. In yet another landmark move - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) has announced the launch of a programme that aims to source unique artworks created by local artists from the UAE - this includes both UAE nationals and residents.

The goal of this initiative is to build and manage an expansive art collection that will be displayed in UAE embassies around the world. Titled ‘Art in Embassies’  the program strives to communicate the crucial role of culture as a tool in building bridges between countries and peoples through the arts.

Earlier this month the MoFAIC had announced a submission deadline extension in another nationwide art initiative, the Gift of Zayed competition. Interested artists can still submit their artworks and win a trip to visit the United Nations headquarters in New York and also receive specialized training in the fields of arts and culture.
