The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has extended its deadline for a nationwide competition titled 'Gift of Zayed'. United Nations Member States have traditionally presented artworks as gifts to the United Nations and these artworks are featured in the four United Nations buildings and headquarters. The Gift of Zayed competition will give Emirati nationals and residents the opportunity to showcase their artwork to the world by presenting the winning designs at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Artworks must embody one of the main objectives of the United Nations, namely the unity of humanity in all its cultural diversity and tolerance. Entries may be individual or group and each participant is only allowed one entry.
Competition deadline has been extended to July 31 and the three winning entries will be announced on 26 September. Winners will visit the United Nations headquarters in New York and also receive specialized training in the fields of arts and culture.
