London’s private The Arts Club is set to open its first overseas location in Dubai next year. Founded in 1863, The Arts Club, is one of the most famous private members clubs in the world. During the course of its existence the Club has included many outstanding figures in the history of art, literature and science including Charles Dickens, Franz Liszt and John Everett Millais.
To be situated within the new ICD Brookfield development in the city’s DIFC area, it will occupy 40,000 sq ft of indoor floor space across five levels, with an additional 23,000 sq ft outdoors and members will be able to enjoy a rooftop terrace, three restaurants and bars, a cigar club, art exhibition spaces and a business centre.
The annual membership fee is yet to be officially disclosed but it is estimated to be in the region of Dh10,000 with an additional Dh10,000 joining fee. Membership for a club members spouse will cost Dh6,000. The public area of the development will showcase arts and cultural events. This billion-dollar development is due for completion later this year.
