Fading Brightness is a post-modern, romantic comedy dance performance by Loom Ensemble produced with Dubai based Ripple House. The event will take place at 8 pm from the 3 - 5 May and 10 - 12 May, 2018 at thejamjar, in Alserkal Avenue, Dubai.
The performers include local artists, NYC professionals Neva Cockrell and Raphael Sacks, and participants from Loom’s community classes at thejamjar.
Revolving around the theme of personal development, the show will take the audience on a flight of comedic highs and lows, ranging from ecstatically happy to desperately sad, depending on the scenario, as protagonist Izzy discovers herself through a meditation retreat.
Raphael Sacks, Loom co-founder, says “It’s been amazing to witness the blossoming of contemporary art culture in Dubai. Even just since 2012 when we first starting working with thejamjar, UAE has shown just how much excellent potential there is for a fully homegrown, grassroots professional dance and theater community right here in Dubai.”
Loom Ensemble has been a big part of the growth regarding contemporary art in the UAE as their residence at thejamjar brings fresh ideas, inspires the local community and helps showcase the community’s talent. In the past, Loom Ensemble artists, Neva Cockrell and Raphael Sacks, have performed at DUCTAC, the Madinat Theatre, American University of Sharjah and at other schools and festivals in the UAE.
