Barjeel Global Fellowship Opportunity For Curators

The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago has opened a museum curator fellowship for residents from the Middle East or North Africa. The contemporary museum has a global outlook and they are using the fellowship to bring further diversity to the conversation.

Over the course of the year, the fellow will participate in the museum schedule helping permanent curators plan and organize exhibitions and the museum programs. They will undertake collection research, and write reports on potential purchases for the museum.

The position will be for one year starting from the 1st July 2018, has a salary of $35,000 with other benefits. Send in your application to the Museum by the 28th February 2018.

Applicants should have:

  • A background in Art History, museum studies, and related fields
  • A Masters of Arts degree or at least be in their final year
  • Two years museum experience or research position at college/ university level
  • Evidence of commitment to the field, writing and curating experience
  • Evidence of curatorial activities, and/or critical writing.
