Apple has announced its latest product! A $300 hardbound book chronicling 20 years of Apple’s design through 450 photographs. Titled “Designed by Apple in California”. The book seems to be receiving mixed reviews. The verge called the title “a name that somehow manages to be both humble and incredibly pretentious at the same time.” However, diehard Apple fans probably won't miss out on an Apple product that it is strategically launching so close to the holiday season.
So why did the company launch a design book? Apple’s Chief design Officer, Jonathan Ive explains ,“This archive is intended to be a gentle gathering of many of the products the team has designed over the years. We hope it brings some understanding to how and why they exist, while serving as a resource for students of all design disciplines.”
Apple has recruited legendary photographer Andrew Zuckerman for the job and every image is equally stunning. The company also seems to be capitalizing on its brand loyalty by pricing this product five times the price of an average coffee table picture book (or equivalent to the price of a brand new iPad mini 2 999aed!)
Apple is yet to announce when the book will officially be available in the UAE, however online orders are open.
